PediPlace Program

PediPlace is a nonprofit pediatric healthcare practice for children from birth through eighteen years of age who are uninsured or who qualify for Medicaid or CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program) benefits. PediPlace provides a medical home for children who otherwise would go without care or who would unnecessarily use the emergency room.

Assistance League of Dallas members donate homemade Taggies for infants and toddlers to PediPlace in Richardson on a monthly basis. A Taggie is made from soft squares of baby flannel, and on each of the 4 sides, three colorful, textured ribbons are attached. The Taggies promote fine motor skills, such as grasping and exploring. Sensory stimulation also occurs as the baby or child takes in the bright colors and interesting textures.
